PRPD: Brother stabs his brother with steak knife

Argument between two leads to assault with deadly weapon arrest

PASO ROBLES — A Paso Robles man was arrested after reportedly stabbing his brother with a steak knife on Thursday, the Paso Robles Police Department reported.

PRPD officers responded to a 911 call on the 2000 block of Silverwood Way regarding an argument between two individuals on Thursday, July 26 per police officials. One of the brothers was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Police found that the argument had escalated into a physical fight between two brothers. Matthew Meyer, 20, and his brother who is 18 years old. Matthew Meyer retrieved a steak knife from the kitchen. The teenager was stabbed in the back near his left shoulder blade when he turned to move away from his brother with the knife, the Paso Robles Police.

As a result of the investigation, PRPD arrested Matthew Meyer and transported him to county jail. He was booked on Thursday, July 26 and charged with suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $25,000.

The victim was transported by EMS to Twin Cities Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
