Nineteen students from Liberty High School took a field trip to the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve last week. The students were treated to a 2.5 plus mile hike through the coastal mountain range near Cambria over to the coastal bluffs. The hike was led and narrated by docents from the Friends of Fiscalini Ranch. Students were able to experience bird watching and learned about Native American history. They were able to explore woodrat homes, banana slugs, Monarch Butterfly groves and sea lions. Students took pictures and discussed with docents the many fascinating aspects of the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve.
