Maryann Rogers

Maryann Rogers born on February 18, 1928 and died on May 21, 2017 of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She was a Roman Catholic, Wife and mother in that order.

She was the third of five children born to Tom and Verona Foster in Lincoln, Neb. in 1928. She attended St. Theresa’s through 8th grade, Lincoln High school and Duschesne College of the Sacred Heart in Omaha, where she met her future husband John Wesley Rogers; an Army Air Corps veteran and future physician. They were married in August of 1947. Their marriage resulted in six children, a relocation to Utah then Kimball, Neb. and Lincoln to finally Atascadero. Throughout her life, she was known for her sweet temperament. She was a member of St. Williams Parish from 1961 until her death. As a member of the Choir, she made joyful noises unto the Lord, according to her husband. Her volunteer activities included delivering for Meals on Wheels and helping new mothers at San Luis Obispo County General Hospital. She leaves behind children John (Patty Ann), Jimmy (Wendy), Marilyn Sibback (Jon), Billy (Jeanie) and Paul (Monica), Grandchildren and many lifelong friendships. Daughter Georgia Lee and Husband John precede her in death. Family and friends are invited to a Vigil on Monday May 29 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m.

At Chapel of the Roses in Atascadero with a Funeral Mass to follow on May 30 at St. Williams in Atascadero at 10:00 a.m., Graveside to follow at Atascadero District Cemetery.
