PASO ROBLES — The Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services hosted a Make a Wish Foundation presentation on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Public Safety Center.
The “Make a Wish” presentation was granted to Justin Van Pelt. Justin is an 8-year-old Paso Robles resident that suffers from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). DMD is a rare genetic disease which causes muscles in the body to become weak and damaged over time. Justin was diagnosed when he was 18 months old and he will turn 9 on March 20. Justin and his family were granted a 7-day Bahamas Disney Cruise by the Make a Wish foundation. His family and friends were provided a fire department tour and a fun-filled experience with the firefighters, as part of the presentation.
