In memory of our loving father Dr. Lyle H. Warren who passed away on March 30, 2017 at the age of 89. He leaves behind his loving wife Betty and four adult children; Rod, Gary, Linda and Tom. Daughter in-laws Sherry and Joyce Warren. Six grandchildren; Brandon, Justin, Chelsey, Brycen, Zack and Shelby. Also two great grandchildren, Hunter and Johnny. He also loved many dogs and cats that were always a part of the household.
He was born on July 27, 1927 in Kline, Colorado to Wilbourn and Grace Warren in very humble beginnings. His father passed away when he was six years old leaving the family in poverty so he decided very early in life that he wanted to do better.
He joined the US Navel reserves in World War II and served as a Torpedoman’s Mate Third Class aboard two fleet submarines the USS Apogon (SS 308) and the USS Steelhead (SS 280). After being honorably discharged from the Navy he decided that he was going to attend medical school and become a doctor. During medical school he met the love of his life, Bette Jean Owens. They were married on June 13th 1949 and remained together for the next 68 years until his passing. He had a very successful practice at the Medi Quick Center in Atascadero from 1963 until 2006. We will all dearly miss him.
His memorial will be held at The Faces of Freedom Memorial at the Atascadero lake park on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. This is an open invitation.
