John P Roza Jr., born on February 24, 1918, in San Luis Obispo, passed away at age 100 on June 11, 2018, peacefully in his daughter’s home.
John grew up in the Irish Hills of San Luis Obispo and served in the Navy in World War II. John owned a boat shop in San Luis Obispo and was a self-employed truck driver until his retirement.
John loved family, friends, deer hunting and eating anything with apricots. John is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and William Stewart; grandchildren, Tanya Aberman (Evan) and Wesley Stewart; great-grandchildren, Maizy Aberman and Dalton Stewart. He was preceded in death by his wife Dina (Villa) Roza and son, Michael Roza.
He was a member of Shriners and the Elks Club. Friends and family can pay their respects at the visitation on Thursday, June 21 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Reis Chapel.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, June 22 at 1 p.m. at the Santa Margarita Cemetery. Reis Family Funeral Home is handling arrangements, 991 Nipomo, SLO.
