Irene Marie Morrow


Irene Marie Morrow, a resident of Paso Robles, California, passed away at her home on November 1, 2017 after a battle with cancer.  She was 86 years old.  She was born on January 7, 1931 in Wesleyville, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph Henry and Julia Anna (Schreiber) Thomas.  Irene was baptized into the Christian faith on January 25, 1931 at the Saint James Church in Erie, Pa. as well as being confirmed there.
She graduated in 1948 from Wesleyville Junior-Senior High School at the age of 17.  She moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the F.B.I...  It was during this time that she met her future husband, Bonard C. Morrow Jr. who was in the Marines at Quantico, Virginia.  They were married on October 8, 1949 in the Methodist Church in Hyattsville, Maryland.  Together they were blessed with four children.
Irene was a gentle, gracious and soft spoken lady who loved her Lord.  Her life revolved around her family whom she adored and were the center of her life.  Along with being a housewife and mom she enjoyed traveling to visit with family and friends, adventures that her children could talk her into, reading, shopping, cooking and life.  She will be forever missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, brothers William George Thomas and James Frances Thomas.  She is survived by children Patricia Mensing (Fred), James Morrow (Jane), Cathryn Jennings (Rand), and Susan Morrow all of Atascadero; five grandchildren, Aryn Snow (Kelly), Tara Martin (Chris), Bobbie Comes, Weston Morrow (Andrea), and Richard Morrow (Alaynah); three great grandchildren, Austin Snow, Arabella and Holden Martin; her sister Carol Kreide (Walt) of Salt Lake City, Utah; sister-in-law Dorothy Thomas of Erie, Pa; and many nieces and nephews throughout the U.S..
A graveside service will be held at the Atascadero Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Roses Funeral Home, Atascadero.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Central Coast Hospice, 253 Granada Drive-Suite D, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.
