Georgia Pearl Vest

Georgia Pearl Vest passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family, on Sept. 9, 2018. Born in Ventura, Calif. on July 19, 1933, second of four children to Myrtle and Bill Cummins. The family moved several times, attending school in the valley and in Oxnard, where she graduated Oxnard Union High School in 1951.

She met her love and best friend as a young girl, high school sweethearts, Perry Vest. They were married in September 1951. They raised two daughters Cindy and Cathi in Oxnard and Ojai.

Georgia started her career working at Santa Barbara Savings. She continued through the years at Imperial Savings and County Savings Bank serving as Branch Manager and Vice President for over 30 years.

They traveled extensively in their motorhome, they loved fishing with their friends in the High Sierras. She loved sewing, piecing quilts for family and cooking for everyone. They moved to Paso Robles from Ventura in 2007 to be near family, as both had some health issues.

She was preceded in death by her parents Myrtle and Bill Cummins, sister Lara Morrow and beloved husband Perry. She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Cindy Bennett (Michael) of Texas, and Cathi Scamara (Dan) of Paso Robles, her grandchildren, Tiffany Frederick (Matthew), Shawn Salas (Jenny) both of Paso Robles, Sarah Tunks (Tim), and Brandon Bennett (Elodia), both of Texas, Jason Bennett (Tara), of Singapore, Emily Scamara and Lea Scamara of Pleasanton, Dylan Scamara (Kelly) of Atascadero, Danny Scamara of Paso Robles, and her great-grandchildren Isabella Frederick, Colton Frederick, Cameron Frederick of Paso Robles, Brayden Salas, Kolby Salas, Aria Salas of Paso Robles, Kella Tunks and Mia Bennett of Texas, Kassidy Bennett of Singapore, and Robert Scamara of Atascadero. She also leaves behind sister Cheri and brother Bill Cummins (Pat) all of Sequim, Wash. and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all.

Graveside services to be held at Ivy Lawn Cemetery in Ventura at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14.  For those that can attend, the family welcomes you.
