Frank Boyd Baxter, passed away at Tuesday, Jan. 9 after a long battle with COPD; he was 78 years young.
Boyd was born in Paso Robles on Sept. 20, 1941 to Orville and Arlene Baxter. He attended Paso Robles Elementary, where he met and fell in love with his wife, Kaye Ferry. He then went on to Paso Robles High School where he achieved high grades and was student body president.
After graduation he attended CAL university and later graduated from Chico State with a Business Administration degree.
In 1959, he married his love since first grade, Kaye. Over the next several years they had two daughters, Shelly Dee and Stacy Dawn. Boyd went right to work for Pacific Bell right out of college, he quickly climbed the corporate ladder which brought him to Napa in 1968. Boyd retired from Pacific Bell in 1984, however he couldn’t be idle just yet, he took pride in a Real Estate sales and investment career thereafter. After truly hanging up his hat, Boyd and Kaye moved to Placerville in 1990. After retirement he loved spending time with his three grandchildren, Danielle Kaye, Lexi Elizabeth and Bryson Boyd.
After 2003 the couple decided to downsize to a beautiful home in Tahoe, where Boyd was able to appreciate a lower maintenance life and a lake nearby. The two of them moved to the Sacramento area in 2010 for health reasons.
He was the most dedicated husband, father and papa. Boyd will be remembered by all as a strong, honorable man who never did anything halfway. His friends will see him as a gracious host, unlucky fisherman and above all a loving family-man.
A celebration of Boyd’s life will be held at 7368 Whyte Avenue, Citrus Heights at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 21. In lieu of flowers please share your favorite memories of Boyd with his family; send via mail to 228 Pua Huana Circle, Citrus Heights, CA, 95621.
