CRESTON — The 9th-Ever Creston Cowboy Christmas Dinner Party, complete with dinner, wine and music a dessert auction and raffles, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 15 at Creston Community Center, 5110 Swayze Road in Creston. The annual event is a fundraiser for the Creston Area Town Center Helping-hands (CATCH) Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transitioning the old Creston Firehouse into Creston’s first community center.
The nonprofit fund has worked with a variety of local community organizations, including the Creston Women’s Club, Creston Men’s Club, and Creston Garden Club to raise money for the project while providing community events and service.
Those efforts have included replacing all underground utility lines, addition of a storage room, upgrade of bathroom facilities for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, full overhaul of the electrical system, installation of fire sprinklers throughout the building, concrete sidewalks, and painting inside and out.
Tickets are $45 per person, or reserve a table for eight for $400. The catered Mexican meal will be provided by La Mexicana Restaurant of Atascadero. Only 100 dinner tickets will be sold, and ticket sales deadline is Dec. 7. For tickets, call 805-610-1517.
