Betty was born May 11, 1934, she was born to Robert and Ada Erwin of La Habra, Calif. She and her younger sister Hilda grew up in La Habra, Calif.
Betty enjoyed riding horses and music — she was able to play the piano, the French horn, and the mandolin. She attended college and graduated from Cal State Long Beach with her B.A. and teaching credentials.
Betty met her husband, Robert Anderson while out riding her horse and quickly fell in love. She had a double wedding with her sister Hilda and her fiance. Bob and Betty had three boys: Robert, Richard and David. She was blessed with two granddaughters: Kristen and Katya.
Betty spent her career at the elementary school in King City teaching fourth grade. She would drive from her home in Shandon to King City five days a week. During the nine years with the King City schools, she was never late and never missed a day of work.
She and her family had a beautiful home on 10 acres in Shandon where she was able to have all the pets she loved so dearly, including a horse, geese, cats, dogs, and a parrot. Betty and her sister, Hilda enjoyed traveling around the world in their younger years. Betty touched the hearts of everyone she met with her kind smile and warm heart.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Robert and her son, David. Her remaining family includes sons: Robert (Rob) and Richard, and granddaughters: Kristen and Katya She was loved by all and she will be dearly missed.
Services will be held at noon on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at the Shandon Cemetery at the north end of Centre Street in Shandon. A reception will follow at Shandon Park.
