Anthony Joseph Azzari

Anthony Joseph Azzari, 82, of Paso Robles, died at home Friday, October 13, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born October 18, 1934 in Llanerch, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Lillian Azzari. He is survived by his wife and devoted caretaker, Georgene Franklin of Paso Robles; his children, Susanne, Victoria, Lorraine, Anthony, Annemarie, and Renee; his stepchildren, Earl, Lance, Neal, and Sondra; 12 grandchildren; his siblings, Louise and Charles; and his friend and caretaker, Cindy. After serving his country overseas in the Air Force, he graduated from Drexel Institute of Technology with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He spent most of his career at Remington Rand Univac, hired as a Programmer Trainee and Computer Operator in the Applied Math Department, and retired as a Principal Programmer in the Technical Sales Support Group. Although a motor neuron disease cut short his career and left him in a wheelchair, he went on to live a full and productive life. He loved music and movies, and he was a wizard with all kinds of electronic gadgets. His stories of mischief and rebellion were a great source of entertainment for those who had the pleasure of spending time with him. He’s been rolling all over town at full speed in Atascadero and Paso Robles for the past 35 years. We hope he’s now driving that two-seater convertible sports car he always dreamed of. We’re all so grateful to have known him. His love and inspiration will reside forever in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sat. Nov. 4, at 11 am at Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Home, 1703 Spring St., Paso Robles.
