The Paso Robles High School Graduating Class of 2016 saw 414 students receive diplomas June 10 at the 120th graduation ceremony at War Memorial Stadium.

Interim Principal Jennifer Gaviola gave the welcome speech for the commencement, attended by hundreds of parents, relatives and friends. She opened by quoting author Robert Frost who said, “I am not a teacher I am an awakener,” explaining that each staff member exhibits this attribute.

Gaviola went on to quote Frost again saying, “Accept no one’s definition of your life — define your self. There are so many uniquely special people in front of me and you are enough, you are our future and you are amazing.”

Senior class president Brandt Goodman was joined by associated student body president Lizette Juarez, both giving speeches to send the class of 2016 away with words to remember. Juarez, as a multi-lingual student, gave her speech once in English and then again in Spanish, to rousing applause.
